It is November 2015, exactly one year since I first learned about "Travel With Soul", a volunteer program for seniors interested in travel and service in Israel. Though not ready to retire, I am ready for an adventure and this seems to be the right match for me. I leave on January 18 and fly home on Feb 19th! I look forward to sharing this adventure with my family and friends thru this blog!
As I understand, this is the 9th year of this program which is affiliated with CJPs Boston to Haifa connection. Our volunteer work will be in the schools working with middle school and H.S. Age students studying English. We volunteer half days and have the rest of the time to explore Haifa. We each have a host family, who we visit for Shabbat dinners each Friday. Two afternoons a week we have a beginning Hebrew class, which may be the biggest challenge of the trip for me!
